George Mills died from wounds on 14th May, 1915 but as yet there is no information as to where and on what date he was wounded. The 2nd Essex battalion was part of 12 Brigade,  4th Division that had been holding the line around Ploegsteert during the winter of 1914-1915 and had then moved north to Ypres when the Germans launched the Second Battle of Ypres in April 1915.
